Product Details
The Rotoku, a WÜSTHOF innovation, is the evolution of the classic Santoku. Fine slicing, swift chopping, precise serving — this blade excels in every task with exceptional dynamism. The broad blade ensures perfect control and also serves as a practical tool: use it to scoop and transfer ingredients from the chopping board to the pan or serving dish.
The curved edge combines the effortless rocking motion of a European-style chef’s knife with the unrivalled precision of an Asian-style blade. The hollow indentations along the blade’s edge create small air pockets, reducing sticking and enhancing efficiency.
This knife expands on the original “three virtues” of the traditional Santoku (so named for its versatility in cutting meat, fish, and vegetables) by adding three more essential functions: chopping, serving, and transporting. The name “Rotoku” is inspired by the Japanese word “roku” (“six”). Six virtues. One knife. A masterpiece of elegance and functionality.
Performer knives feature a deep-black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) performance finish, making our blades exceptionally strong and durable. This finish is heat-resistant, scratchproof, and highly resilient to damage. Whatever the conditions, it sets a new standard for frictionless slicing. The non-slip Hexagon-Power-Grip© handle design guarantees unparalleled control with every cut.
For those who refuse to compromise. WÜSTHOF Performer — the knife for the perfect cut.

---|---|---|
Material | Premium forged steel engineered for lasting strength and corrosion resistance. | Often stamped or made from standard steel blends that may sacrifice durability or rust resistance. |
Sharpness | 20% sharper than standard knives, thanks to laser-guided PEtec technology. | Factory-sharpened blades that start strong but dull faster and lack precision honing. |
Craftsmanship | Hand-finished in Solingen, Germany with 200+ years of expertise and precision in every detail. | Mass-produced or partially outsourced craftsmanship that lacks the same heritage and consistency. |
Corrosion Resistance | Exceptional rust resistance for a blade that stays beautiful for decades. | Prone to staining or rust if not carefully maintained—especially with frequent kitchen use. |
Edge Retention | Stays sharper twice as long as ordinary knives, reducing the need to re-sharpen. | Edges wear faster over time, requiring more frequent sharpening and touch-ups. |
Lifetime Warranty | Lifetime warranty – a promise backed by generations of quality. | Lifetime coverage may exist, but with less transparency and variable service depending on the brand. |
