Imado’s Wusthuf
"It's a very nice looking knife, very sharp and light in weight. The only issue I had with it was, the cheap box that it is placed in. For a $1500 knife I would expect a nicer package."

|
|---|---|---|
| Material | Premium forged steel engineered for lasting strength and corrosion resistance. | Often stamped or made from standard steel blends that may sacrifice durability or rust resistance. |
| Sharpness | 20% sharper than standard knives, thanks to laser-guided PEtec technology. | Factory-sharpened blades that start strong but dull faster and lack precision honing. |
| Craftsmanship | Hand-finished in Solingen, Germany with 200+ years of expertise and precision in every detail. | Mass-produced or partially outsourced craftsmanship that lacks the same heritage and consistency. |
| Corrosion Resistance | Exceptional rust resistance for a blade that stays beautiful for decades. | Prone to staining or rust if not carefully maintained—especially with frequent kitchen use. |
| Edge Retention | Stays sharper twice as long as ordinary knives, reducing the need to re-sharpen. | Edges wear faster over time, requiring more frequent sharpening and touch-ups. |
| Limited Lifetime Warranty | Limited lifetime warranty – a promise backed by generations of quality. | Lifetime coverage may exist, but with less transparency and variable service depending on the brand. |

"It's a very nice looking knife, very sharp and light in weight. The only issue I had with it was, the cheap box that it is placed in. For a $1500 knife I would expect a nicer package."
"Thought long and hard before ordering this knife, mostly because of the price. However, this knife is a reward for all the many, many meals I have prepared and will probably continue to prepare until I cease to exist. It's a delight to hold and use. I would suggest investing in a knife block that has a clear view of this blade so you can enjoy it even when not using it. There are magnetized knife blocks with a clear plexiglass front."
"Best and most beautiful knife. Super quality as always (my other Wusthof is 26 yrs old and still going) thank you for maintaining the quality over the years."
"This is now my must prized possession. The quality and craftsmanship is beyond compare."
"I love this knife. The quality of Amici is obvious, but the beauty of the details in this knife are beyond stunning. I was replacing my knives after 30 years and couldn’t be happier. While some say they save it for special occasions, I use mine regularly because it makes me smile every time."
"Beautiful knife."
"If I'm ever murdered, please let it be with this knife, Imma give that 👍 before rigor mortis sets in."
"I was super apprehensive to buy a $1500.00 knife. But this one's a beauty. So much so that I will never use it lol. I can get the $300 Amici for daily use and frame this 1814 Amici to put up on my kitchen wall. If you can afford it, get one. Before it's all sold out 👍🏼"
"Talk about a beautiful knife. Bought one of these to add to the collection and well, it only comes out on occasions. I have used it when family/guests come over, and it is definitely a conversation starter. Now, I’m not sure if it is worth the extra 1200ish dollars over the regular amici series, but it’s definitely cool. If you are not a collector and are looking for just a solid knife, get the regular amici. I must say it does feel good, I do personally prefer Japanese knives though."
"Nice knife, good quality but a bit pricey for what it is."
